Context:
Saved data persist only for the duration of the session. To save your
X–Y data object beyond the duration of the session,
you must save the data to a file. You can either copy your
X–Y data object to an output database (binary) file
or write it to a report (ASCII) file. For information on copying
X–Y data to an output database file, see
Copying a session X–Y data object to an output database file.
For information on writing X–Y data to a report
  file, see
  Generating tabular data reports.

	 Specify your X–Y data.

		-
From the main menu bar, select
			 .

The Create XY Data dialog box appears.

		-
		  Choose the source of
your data from the list, and click Continue.

Abaqus
			 displays the appropriate dialog box.

		-
Enter the necessary data or information in the dialog box.

Save your data for the current
		Abaqus
		session.

		-
		  Click Save As or
			 Save (as available).

If you save data from the XY Data from ODB Field
Output dialog box, the Save XY Data dialog box
appears. If you save X–Y data from any other dialog
box, the Save XY Data As dialog box appears.

		-
Accept the default name, or enter the data object name of your
			 choice in the text field.

			  Note:

If you save data from the XY Data from ODB Field
Output dialog box, you must accept the default names. If you
selected multiple history output variables in the History
Output dialog box, the X–Y data sets will
be saved with the default names XYData-1,
XYData-2, etc. You can enter a new name prefix to
				  replace XYData.

		-
If you are saving history data, do one of the following:

				-

To save the data set without changing it, leave the default
choice of as is in the Save Operation
					 list.

				-

If you selected a single history output variable, you can
choose to perform any of the
					 mathematical,
trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential, or other operations available
in the Save Operation list. The selected operation will be
performed on the data before it is saved.

				-

If you selected two history output variables, you can choose
					 to perform any of the
					 dual-operand
operations available in the Save Operation list:

				-

If you selected three or more history output variables, you
can choose to perform any of the
					 multi-operand
operations available in the Save Operation list:

		-
If available, toggle on Plot curves on OK to
plot the X–Y data sets when you click
			 OK.

		-
If available, toggle on Swap variables to
			 swap the order of operations.

		-
If available, toggle on Apply to linked
viewports to save the X–Y data across all
			 linked viewports.

The viewport number is appended to the
X–Y data set name; for example,
			 XyData-1_VP1,
			 XyData-1_VP2, etc.

		-
Click OK to close the dialog box.
