Saving Results

You can save the collection of results from a locally (standalone mode) executed model in a zipped results (*.zrf) file or to a text file, depending on if you want to use the saved file inside or outside of Isight, respectively.

In addition, job results are stored permanently in the Isight database (see Setting Local Results Database Preferences for information about the Local Results Database preference option).

You can also export multiple jobs directly from the Isight database to a set of results files in the Runtime Gateway (see Exporting Jobs).

This task shows you how to:

Save Results to an Isight Results File

Select this option to save the results generated by the currently loaded job, including any graphs and filter settings, to a zipped results (.zrf) file.

  1. From the Runtime Gateway File menu, select Save Results As.

  2. In the Files of type list, select Isight Results (*.zrf).

  3. Navigate to the directory where you want to save the job results.

  4. In the File name text box, enter the name of the results file.

  5. If desired, click Save file parameters to include the file parameter’s values with the results.

  6. Click Select File to save the file and to return to the Runtime Gateway.

Once the results are saved, you can open the results file in either the Runtime Gateway or the Design Gateway (which launches the Runtime Gateway). The file can also be imported directly into an Isight database as described in Importing Jobs.

Save Results to a Text File

Select this option to save the results generated by the currently loaded job to a set of text files in a specified directory. Only the parameter value history data are saved; any graphs and filter settings are not saved. For each component in the model, Isight generates a file containing one row for each run. If the component contains file parameters, Isight creates a directory and populates it with a version of the file for each run.

Important: Results saved in text files are for use only outside of Isight. They cannot be read back into the Runtime Gateway for review or postprocessing. To load results back into the Runtime Gateway at a later time, you must either load them directly from the Isight database (see Using the Job Database Interface) or from a saved zipped results (.zrf) file.

  1. From the Runtime Gateway File menu, select Save Results As.

  2. In the Files of type list, select Text (*.txt).

  3. Navigate to the parent directory that contains the directory where you want to save the results. All available directories, based on your navigation, are displayed below the list. Do not navigate into the directory that will store the information.

  4. Click the directory to select it.

  5. In the Options area, do any of the following actions, if desired:

    • Select Save file parameters to include file parameters in the text files. If this option is not selected, only non-file parameters are saved.

    • Use the Parameters list to specify if All Parameters or only the Parameters shown on History Tab are saved.
    • In the Delimiter list, select Tab or Comma. The delimiter determines how the parameter values are separated in the saved files.

  6. Click Select Directory to save your file and to return to the Runtime Gateway.

Isight saves the information in a subdirectory in the directory you specified. The name of the subdirectory is based on the current job name.
