Setting Local Results Database Preferences

You can set default options for storing execution results and repairing a damaged database. The database settings do not take effect until the next time you start Isight.

  1. From the Design Gateway or Runtime Gateway Edit menu, click Preferences.

  2. For Standalone users, click Local Results Database, and set the following options, as desired:

    Option Description
Save results to local database Store results to the local database. By default, this option is selected. If you do not select this option, execution performance is improved because results are not written to the database. However, execution results are kept only in memory and are not stored permanently for later use unless you manually save the results. For more information, see Setting Local Database Options.
Use my home directory Save results to your home directory. By default, this option is selected. You can enter the path directly in the text box or click Browse to locate the directory.
Use default port for database connection Use the port automatically detected by Isight. By default, this option is selected. You can enter the port number directly in the text box.

Note: You can also determine these settings on a per execution basis by clicking Write results to database on the Run Info dialog box (using the Configure and Run option). For more information on these settings, see Accessing the Job Database Interface.

  3. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Preferences dialog box.
