From
the Optimization Component WebTop Editor, click
the General tab.
In the Optimization Technique list, select the
technique of your choice.
The technique’s tuning parameters appear in the Optimization
Technique Options area.
If desired, review the information in the Optimization Technique
Description area.
For additional information on the technique, see
About the Optimization Techniques in the Isight Component Guide.
Set the tuning parameter values for your technique in the Optimization Technique Options area.
See About Optimization Techniques and Tuning Parameters for details about the parameters for each technique.
In the Execution Options area, set the following,
if available:
Option |
Description |
Re-execute optimum design point |
Click this option to force the optimization component to re-execute the
optimum design point after the optimization ends. Re-executing is recommended
if there are some output parameters that are not directly involved in
optimization, but their values depend on the values of design variables
(e.g., output file parameters). |
Use automatic variable scaling |
Click this option
to scale design variables using their respective ranges (i.e., distances
between their upper and lower bounds). Isight
removes the Scale Factor column from the Design Variables
tab because the scale factor values are calculated automatically.
Note:
You must define all upper and lower bounds
(or allowed values) for all design variables when this option is selected.
If some design variables do not have bounds, you will not be able to
use this option.

Click Import
to import all or part of the Optimization component configuration from
a file. Click Export to export the entire configuration
to a file.
This option provides you with an easy mechanism for
quickly configuring the component using information from an external
source without manually entering all the information in the component
editor. For more information, see About Importing and Exporting Configuration Files in the Isight Component Guide.
Click Update Component to save your
changes.
