From the main menu bar, select
.
The Edit Restart Requests dialog box appears
with a list of the steps in the current model.
From the dialog box, select the step and specify the frequency at
which
Abaqus
writes restart information. Do the following:
- Abaqus/Standard
-
For an
Abaqus/Standard
analysis step, enter the frequency in increments or in time intervals:
-
To write restart information after every regular number of
increments, enter that number in the Frequency column.
-
To write restart information at a specific number of equally
spaced time intervals during a step, enter that number in the
Intervals column.
Restart information is written at the increment ending immediately
after the time specified by the time interval. In an
Abaqus/Standard
analysis, you can toggle on the Time Marks column to write
restart information at the exact time specified by the time interval.
By default, no restart information is written for an
Abaqus/Standard
analysis step (i.e., the frequency is set to zero).
- Abaqus/Explicit
-
For an
Abaqus/Explicit
analysis step, enter the number of equally spaced time
Intervals at which restart information is written. By
default,
Abaqus/Explicit
writes restart information only at the beginning and end of each step (i.e.,
Intervals is set to one). You cannot avoid writing data to
the restart files for an
Abaqus/Explicit
analysis step; the number of Intervals must be set to one
or greater.
By default,
Abaqus/Explicit
writes restart information at the increment ending immediately after the time
specified by the time interval. Toggle on the Time Marks
column to write restart information at the exact time specified by the time
interval.
For an
Abaqus/Standard
or
Abaqus/Explicit
analysis, you can request that information from only one increment per step or
from every specified increment be retained.
-
Toggle on the Overlay column to request that
only information from one increment per step be retained in the restart files,
thus minimizing the size of the files. When a step completes, the last
increment is retained.
-
Toggle off the Overlay column to request that
information from every specified increment or time interval be retained in the
restart files.
You can use the Overlay column only when the
frequency is greater than zero.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for each step of the analysis.
When you have finished configuring your restart output requests, click
OK to close the Edit Restart
Requests dialog box.
