Using the Model Tree to obtain feature information

The Model Tree displays the feature names along with icons that indicate their status—active, suppressed, modified, or failed. In addition, you can display information on a particular feature by clicking mouse button 3 on the feature in the Model Tree and selecting from the menu that appears.

  1. Click mouse button 3 on the feature in the Model Tree.

  2. From the menu that appears, choose one of the following options:

    • Select Show Parents or Show Children to display the parents or children of that feature in the current viewport. Abaqus/CAE also selects the parents or children.

    • Select Query to display detailed information. Abaqus/CAE displays the following information about the selected feature:

      • Name and description; for example, solid extrude

      • Status—active or suppressed

      • The name of its parent, if any

      • The names of its children, if any

      • The value of any parameters that define the feature

    The query information appears in the message area and is also written to the replay file (abaqus.rpy) in the form of comments.
