Performing a data check on a model

A data check runs the input file through the analysis input file processor to ensure that the model is consistent and that all the required model options have been set. This option generates (or regenerates) the input file for the job if the job source is an Abaqus/CAE model.

To perform a data check on a model, select JobData Checkjob of your choice from the main menu bar. You can also perform a data check by selecting the job of your choice and then clicking Data Check in the Job Manager.

To see the results of a data check analysis, review the data (.dat) file in your working directory. You can also review the results of a data check by selecting JobMonitorjob of your choice to display the job monitor dialog box. For more information on the job monitor, see Monitoring the progress of an analysis job.

A data check also creates an output database. You can view the output database in the Visualization module to verify model information such as face labels, surface normals, and material orientations. For more information on viewing an output database, see Viewing results.
