Continuing an adaptivity process after a data check

When you perform a data check on an adaptivity process, a job is created for the first iteration of the adaptivity process (as described in Performing a data check on an adaptivity process). In addition, Abaqus creates and saves all the files necessary to complete this job at a later time. You can also use these files to continue the full adaptivity process from the current state of the first iteration.

To complete only the job associated with the first iteration of the adaptivity process, use the procedures listed in Continuing an analysis job after a data check. Remeshing and further iterations will not occur.

To continue the full adaptivity process, select AdaptivityContinue Analysisadaptivity process name. You can also continue the adaptivity process by selecting the process name in the Adaptivity Process Manager and clicking Continue Analysis. The adaptivity process proceeds as described in Submitting an adaptivity process.

The Continue Analysis option can be used only in conjunction with a data check; it is not used to continue remeshing after an adaptivity process is complete. Once an adaptivity process runs to completion, you can continue to remesh a model by resubmitting the full process. You can also consider using the combination remeshing techniques described in Using a combination of automatic and manual mesh adaptivity.
