Creating a SIMULIA Execution Engine Connection Profile

You need to create a connection profile if you are connecting to a SIMULIA Execution Engine. If you are running Isight in standalone mode, this connection profile is included in your installation and does not need to be created.

  1. Access the Profile Editor using one of the following methods:

    • From the Design Gateway, do the following:

      1. Click Edit, and click Preferences.
      2. Expand the Gateway link, and click Startup.
      3. Click New Profile.

For more information, see Setting Gateway Preferences.

    • If you have already started Isight and are currently viewing the Logon dialog box, you can click the button to create a new profile. This dialog box does not appear unless you have specified at least one SIMULIA Execution Engine connection profile.

    • If you are using the Windows operating system and have installed a SIMULIA Execution Engine station on the system that is executing Isight, you can click the Start button, point to All Programs > SIMULIA Execution Engine x.x, and click Edit Logon Profile.

    • Execute the editcpr command from a command prompt/terminal window. This file is located in the following directory (based on your operating system):

      <Isight_install_directory>/<operating_system>/code/command/

  2. In the Profile name text box, type the name of the profile.

This name appears in the Connection profile list when connecting to a SIMULIA Execution Engine.

  3. From the Server type list, select the application server that you are using.

  4. In the Server name text box, enter the name of the computer running the SIMULIA Execution Engine.

Important: If you are using LSF with Isight, do not specify the server using its fully qualified domain name. For example, you should type acsmachine, not acsmachine.yourcompany.com.

  5. If desired, change the Port number. The port number provided is the default port number for the application server selected. However, based on your network or system configuration, you may need to change the port number. Contact your local system administrator for more information.

  6. If the SIMULIA Execution Engine resides in a different security domain than the SIMULIA Execution Engine, you can select Prompt for extended grid credentials. This feature allows you to enter multiple sets of credentials for the different security domains so that jobs you submit can run on all the SIMULIA Execution Engine stations.

  7. Click Save to save the connection profile.

You can save the connection profile in either the default config directory within the Isight installation directory tree or in your home directory.
