Setting Gateway Preferences

You can set default preferences for the working directory, for saving back-up files, for showing a dialog when you add components to the palette, for the default browser, and for the format to be used for creating packed model archives.

  1. From the Design Gateway or Runtime Gateway Edit menu, click Preferences.

  2. Select Gateway, and set the following options, as desired:

    Option Description
Working Directory Enter a directory to use as the default directory when you save or open a model. You can type the full path directly in the corresponding text box, or you can click Browse to navigate to the directory.
Automatically save a back-up copy of the model If Isight exits incorrectly (e.g., the system fails), prompts you to use the saved file the next time you try to open the original model file. The back-up file is saved to the model’s directory. If the model is new, Isight saves the back-up file to the Isight temporary directory. The back-up files are removed after Isight exits correctly. By default, this option is selected.
Interval Enter the time (in minutes) that you want Isight to wait before performing another backup. The default is 5 minutes. If you do not select Automatically save a back-up copy of the model, Isight does not save the currently loaded models.

For more information, see the Revert to auto-save option, Design Gateway Edit Menu.

Show dialog when components are added to the palette Display a verification dialog box every time a component is added to the Design Gateway from the library. By default, this option is selected.
Default Browser Enter the location for your system’s default Web browser. Use the browser to view Isight’s help and to view reports in HTML or text format (see About Reports). You can type the full path to the browser directly in the corresponding text box, or you can click Browse to navigate to the directory.

For Linux users, you can click Show warning if default browser is not set to alert you if this option is not set when the Isight help is accessed. You will be prompted to enter the path to a browser to view the help.

Pack and Go format Select the format to be used for creating packed model archives that include disk files. These archives are created with the File > Pack command. The following two packing formats are available: Store all file data within the model (the default) and Store all file data in the model directory.

  3. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Preferences dialog box.
