Simulation Process Flow Component Options

This section provides a reference to the options available when you right-click a component in the simulation process flow. Some of the options are not available in both gateways.

Option Action
Edit Opens the component editor (see the Isight Component Guide). In the Design Gateway you can edit both application and process components. In the Runtime Gateway you can edit only process components.
Disable Allows you to disable any component in the simulation process flow. Once a component is disabled, right-clicking it again reveals an Enable option (see Suppressing/Activating a Component in the Simulation Process Flow).
Properties Opens the selected component’s properties (see Configuring the Component Properties in the Isight Component Guide).
Scripts Opens the Prologue/Epilogue editor (see Defining Prologue/Epilogue Information in the Isight Component Guide) or the Customization editor (see Creating and Testing Customization Scripts).
Collapse / Expand Either displays or hides the contents of process components in the Sim-flow tab.
Rename Allows you to rename the selected component.
Cut Removes the selected component from the simulation process flow, placing it in memory, and allows you to paste it in another location.
Copy Places a copy of the selected component from the simulation process flow in memory and allows you to paste it in another location (see Using Submodels and Referenced Models).
Paste Copy Takes a cut or copied component from memory and places it in the simulation process flow (see Saving a Component).
Paste Reference Pastes a reference to a component in the simulation process flow. Any change to the original component is reflected in the reference (see Adding Reference Copies of a Single Component).
Delete Removes the selected component from the simulation process flow.
View Opens a submenu that allows you to view component parameters, file parameters, mappings, and validation messages. All information is displayed in a separate dialog box.
Run Executes the selected component (see Executing Models). This option has the same function as the run button in the component title bar.
Active Runs (Available only during execution.) Allows you to cancel a workitem. When you choose this option, a dialog box opens showing a table of currently active running workitems for the selected component. Each run is identified by its run-number sequence (corresponding to the values in the left-hand columns of the history table) and internal workitem identifier. The dialog box also shows how long each run has been executing and which SIMULIA Execution Engine station (if any) is executing the run. You can use this dialog box to select and stop runs that take too long to finish or appear to be unable to finish.
View Carpet Graphs Allows you to create a carpet graph for the selected component. These graphs are used to illustrate the interaction of two independent variables. Because carpet graphs work with the Full Factorial DOE technique and require exactly two factors (input variables), selecting this option allows you to define the factors and automatically places the selected component within a DOE component before executing it in the Runtime Gateway (see Creating Carpet Graphs Prior to Model Execution or Creating Carpet Graphs).
FEA Noise Check When working with an Abaqus component, allows you to determine if the Abaqus finite element model is modeling physics as expected and whether optimization is likely to be successful for the given simulation process flow for the given Abaqus model (see Abaqus Component in the Isight Component Guide).
Print This Component Tree Prints information about the component.
Save As Allows you to save the component (see Saving a Component).
Publish Allows you to publish the component, which makes it available to other users who access your library (see Publishing a Model or Submodel).
Approximations Provides access to the selected component’s approximations. It allows you to access the Approximation Wizard, the Visual Design Driver (VDD), and Error Analysis (see Creating and Using Approximations).
Encapsulate Allows you to specify a new process component to act as a container for the selected component (see Encapsulating Components).
Change To Allows you to change the selected component to a different component of the same type (see Changing Components in a Simulation Process Flow). In the Design Gateway you can change both application and process components. In the Runtime Gateway you can change only process components.
Make Submodel Allows you to specify the selected component (and any child components) as a submodel. Submodels can be referenced any number of times within a model, allowing you to reuse specific parts of the model as needed (see Using Submodels and Referenced Models).
