Configuring the Abaqus Component to Extract CATIA V5 Parameters

You must configure the Abaqus component to extract CATIA V5 parameters.

  1. Double-click the Abaqus component icon .

    The Abaqus Component Editor appears.

  2. From the Abaqus Component Editor, click the Execution tab.

  3. From the Runtime Options area, specify the Abaqus Command.

    You must specify the command that Isight will use to launch the desired supported release of Abaqus/CAE. See Configuring the Execution Options for more information.

  4. Select Extract CATIA V5 parameters.

    When you run the Abaqus component, Isight runs background sessions of CATIA V5 and Abaqus/CAE. The Abaqus component extracts the value of the CATIA V5 geometry parameters from CATIA V5 and makes them available to Isight.

    Note: If you do not select Extract CATIA V5 parameters, the Abaqus component does not extract geometry parameters from CATIA V5 into Isight. Abaqus/CAE parameters, such as loads and stresses will still be available to Isight; however, a background session of CATIA V5 will not be launched during runtime because there are no CATIA V5 geometry parameters to update.
