About the Approximation Component

You can use the Approximation component to generate a mathematical model of your data, which you can use for quick and efficient design studies or optimization. You can control the complexity and sophistication of the mathematical model by choosing the desired approximation technique and its options.

The following approximation techniques are available:

  • RBF Model

  • Response Surface Model

  • Kriging Model

  • Orthogonal Polynomial Model

For more information, see About the Approximation Techniques.

The following figure shows the Approximation Component Editor.

To start the Approximation Component Editor, double-click the Approximation component icon . When you have finished configuring the Approximation Component Editor, click OK to close the editor. For more information about inserting components and accessing component editors, see Working with Components in the Isight User’s Guide.
