Weight Overview

The weight term is the same as the volume term except you have the possibility of constraining your optimization result to have a certain physical weight.

where We is the element weight. For topology optimization design elements are scaled with the current relative density.

SIMULIA Tosca Structure requires that the density of all elements is defined in the input deck. Additionally, only supported element types are used in the weight calculation.
