Saving field output created during the session

You can save field output that you created during the session to the output database. You must open an output database file with write privileges if you want to save field output from the session to the file. If you create new field output by operating on analysis results found in the output database, you can save the field output to an existing step in the output database or you can create a new step.

  1. Locate the options for saving field output.

    From the main menu bar, select ToolsField OutputSave Fields.

    The Save Sessions Field Output Variables dialog box appears. The field output that you created during the session is displayed in the table.

  2. In the Target step field, select the step in which you want to save the field output.

  3. In the Target frame field, select the frame in which you want to save the field output.

  4. Select the field output from the table that you want to save to the output database.

  5. If you want to create a new step in the output database file, click Create Step.

  6. In the Create Odb Step dialog box that appears, do the following:

    1. Enter a name and description for the new step.
    2. In the Domain field, select one of the following options to specify the domain of the step:

      • TIME, and enter time period
      • FREQUENCY
      • ARC_LENGTH
      • MODAL

    3. Click OK to create the step.

  7. Click OK to save the fields.
