Creating interactions for automatically detected contact pairs

Abaqus/CAE creates contact interactions and tie constraints for every item in the contact pair candidates table based on the parameters you have specified.

  1. From the main menu, select either InteractionFind contact pairs or ConstraintFind contact pairs.

    Tip: You can also find contact pairs using the tool in the Interaction module toolbox.

    Abaqus/CAE displays the contact detection dialog box.

  2. Enter the search parameters as described in Specifying search criteria for contact detection.

  3. Perform a search for contact pairs as described in Performing a search for contact pairs.

  4. In the contact pair candidates table, enter all of the parameters necessary to define the interactions and ties as described in Reviewing and modifying detected contact pairs.

  5. Click OK.

    Abaqus/CAE creates the specified contact interactions and tie constraints.
