Allowing for multiple free body cuts

In the Visualization module you can display multiple view cuts on your model at the same time by toggling on Allow for multiple cuts. When you select this option, Abaqus/CAE displays the cutting surface for all view cuts in your session for which the Show checkbox is selected. You can reposition only the active view cut. In practice, you might want to activate and reposition each view cut in turn to place them in the locations you want to investigate. In addition, the cuts you display do not interact; for example, you cannot display only the portion of your model that lies between two parallel planar view cuts.

Note:

Abaqus/CAE does not support display of multiple XFEM-based view cut components at the same time.

Creating or editing a view cut
  1. From the main menu bar, select ToolsView CutManager.

The View Cut Manager appears with a list of all the view cuts that have been created during the current session. A check mark appears in the Show column to the left of the active view cut.

  2. Toggle on Allow for multiple cuts.

Abaqus/CAE displays the on-cut position for every view cut for which the Show checkbox is selected, and Abaqus/CAE hides all free body cuts and disables the check boxes under the icon in the Model columns. You can show or hide individual view cuts from the current display by toggling their Show checkboxes.
