Exporting Graph Data

You can export graph data from the Runtime Gateway to an image file, a text file, or to Microsoft Excel.

  1. From the Runtime Gateway Graphs tab, right-click the graph whose data you want to export.

    A menu appears.

  2. Click Export, and do one of the following:

    Option Description
Export to Image Select to save the graph as a *.jpeg, *.jpg, or *.png file.

Tip: You can export multiple graph images in one operation. To do so, select one or more graphs from the current page of the Graphs tab. Click below the component title bar in the Graphs tab. In the dialog box that appears, specify the target directory where you want to save the images. By default, images will be saved in JPG format in 300x300 pixel size. You can change these settings in the dialog box. Click OK to export the images.

Export to Text File Select to save the graph data as a text file.
Export to Excel Select to export the graph to an Excel worksheet and display it. From this point, you can manipulate the graph, as desired, using Excel. However, there are the following limitations with regard to exporting graph data to Excel:
    • Excel has a 64 kilobyte row limit, which may impact your ability to export a graph.
    • Excel evenly spaces the data points on the X-axis for array graphs.
    • Excel does not directly support some graph types (e.g., 3D scatter plot graphs). For those graphs, the data points are exported, but no graph is created.
Export Selected to Text File Select to save the currently selected points to a text file.

  3. Navigate to the directory where you want to store the file, type a file name and extension in the File Name text box, and click Save.

Isight saves the file. Depending on the file type, you can access it with any image viewing software or text editor.
