Adding Submodels Using the Reference Component Editor

You can use the Reference Component Editor to add submodels to the simulation process flow, which allows you to update parameter values within the Reference component.

Alternatively, you can have Isight automatically add and configure the Reference component. For more information, see Adding Submodels Using the Model Explorer.

Before you begin: Ensure that you have created the submodel prior to adding it to the simulation process flow (see Creating a Submodel).
  1. From the Design Gateway, verify that the submodel that you want to use is listed in the Submodels node in the model explorer.

  2. Drag-and-drop the Reference component icon from the component palette to the desired location in the simulation process flow.

If the Reference component is not currently on the palette, you can add it from the library (see Adding Components to the Component Palette).

  3. Double-click the Reference component icon in the simulation process flow.

    The Reference Component Editor appears.

For more information about the Reference Component Editor, see Reference Component in the Isight Component Guide.

  4. Click Choose Model.

The Select Reference Model dialog box appears.

  5. Expand the Internal Submodels directory, and select the submodel that you want to use.

  6. Click Select Model.

The submodel parameter information appears at the bottom of the Reference Component Editor.

  7. Update the parameter values or file information.

  8. Click OK.

The Design Gateway appears with the Reference component in the simulation process flow. A dotted line connects the Reference component to the selected submodel that appears below it.
