Adding Non-Referenced Copies of Submodels

You can add a non-referenced (independent) copy of a submodel to the simulation process flow. Once added, this copy is separated from the original submodel. Changes to either the copy or the original have no impact on the other. In addition, because you are creating an independent copy, the copy of the submodel appears as a component in the simulation process flow, not as a Reference component/component combination.

Before you begin: Ensure that you have created the submodel prior to adding it to the simulation process flow (see Creating a Submodel).

  1. From the Design Gateway’s model explorer, right-click the submodel that you want to add, and select Copy.

  2. Right-click the simulation process flow arrow that represents the location for the submodel, and select Paste Copy.

    Tip: You can also click the Paste Copy button on the toolbar.

    Isight adds an independent copy of the submodel to the simulation process flow.

  3. If desired, save the model.
