Comparing Two Models

You can compare two models in Isight and view the differences.

You can use the Compare Models dialog box; alternatively, you can run fipercmd diff with the appropriate arguments from a command prompt (see Miscellaneous Commands).

  1. To access the Compare Models dialog box, do one of the following:

    • From the Design Gateway, select Compare With from the Tools menu.

The Compare Models dialog box opens with the model currently open in the Design Gateway as the first model, allowing you to select another model to compare it against.

    • Based on your operating system, run comparemodels.bat from the following directory:

      <Isight_install_directory>\<operating_system>\code\command\

The Compare Models dialog box opens in standalone mode, allowing you to select two models to compare.

  2. If desired, click Browse next to the Model A text box to select a model from the disk or the Isight library or to change the first model.

If you selected a model that is not open in the Design Gateway but want to use the model open in the Design Gateway, click Change to active model in Gateway . This option is available only if you opened the Compare With tool from the Design Gateway.

  3. Click Browse next to the Model B text box to select the second model from the disk or the Isight library.

If you selected a model that is not open in the Design Gateway but want to use the model open in the Design Gateway, click Change to active model in Gateway .

Isight compares the models and shows the results in the Table, Model, and Text tabs.

  4. If desired, click Swap Models to see the differences from the opposite viewpoint.

For example, if a component or parameter was added when going from Model A to Model B, when the models are swapped the component or parameter is shown as having been removed.
