Changing the Format of a Data Source Section

You can change the format of a section of your data source. For example, if you created a data source using the General Text format, you can specify a section of that data using the Vector format.

  1. Double-click the Data Exchanger component icon .

    The Data Exchanger Component Editor appears.

  2. From the Data Exchanger Component Editor, select the data that you want to format.

    In the Data Source area, select multiple lines, drag the mouse cursor down the page, or click the first line and then shift-click the last line that you want to format.

  3. Click the New Section Format button.

    The New Section Format Chooser Wizard appears.

  4. From the Formats area, select the new format.

    The General Text, Table, and Vector formats do not have any additional options to set. The Name/Value option has additional options that can be defined. For more information about these options, see Editing Name/Value Format Data Linked to a Parameter.

  5. Click Finish.

    The wizard closes, and the newly formatted text appears with a white background in the Data Source area.

    You can now insert a Read and Write action using the new format.

  6. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Data Exchanger Component Editor.
