Configuring the Technique

You can use the Technique tab to select the approximation technique that you want to use.

  1. Double-click the Approximation component icon .

    The Approximation Component Editor appears.

  2. From the Approximation Component Editor, click the Technique tab.

  3. In the Approximation technique list, select the technique that you want to use.

    The following techniques are available:

    Option Description
    RBF Model A neural network-based approximation technique that includes radial and elliptical basis functions. See RBF and EBF Models.
    Response Surface Model A polynomial-based approximation technique. See Response Surface Models.
    Kriging Model An interpolation technique. See Kriging Model.
    Orthogonal Polynomial Model A regression technique. See Chebyshev/Orthogonal Polynomial Model.

  4. If desired, review the information in the Technique Description area. For more information, see Configuring the Technique Options.

  5. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Approximation Component Editor.
